Happy holidays!! This is the time of the year that tends to be the hardest. All the cakes, pies, stuffing, ham that you can eat plus leftovers have all gone through your system and you are feeling the results. What is the best thing that you can do? Well number one be realistic. If you know that eating that extra pie and chocolate cake adds pounds to you then start cutting back.
The New Year is the time of year when many people make the New Year's resolution of losing weight. The first step is looking at where you are right now and reassessing the past. If you made that same resolution last year what went wrong and what went right. Take a look at what went wrong and make some adjustments. For example, if you did not exercise regularly last year then make a commitment of a particular day of the week to workout and get an accountability partner. Also set some realistic goals. If the goal last year was to lose 100 pounds and you didn't make it break it down more. Try losing 8 pounds a month and see how well you do. The number one thing is to not just focus on where you are not right now but where you want to be.
So enjoy the rest of your holiday and don't beat yourself up. Think about the things that are great about you and not just what is wrong!! Happy New Year!
